Text to Speech in 130+ Languages
LeapFun reads your script in the language it is written in. Leap Ultra voices cover 132 languages and Leap Pro's multilingual voices 103, detected automatically from the text, so one voice can narrate every edition of a channel, course or book without a language switch.

Language support by voice tier
- Leap Ultra: 130+ languages, cinematic delivery
The 30 Ultra voices read every language on this page. Add sentence-level emotion tags and a director's note for style, pace and accent; the note works in any language the voice reads.
- Leap Pro: the same 30 voices at the standard rate
Pro's multilingual voices are the Ultra voices at the standard rate: 1 credit per UTF-8 byte, against 1.5 on Ultra. They cover 100+ of the languages below and take the same tags and director's note. Pro also includes Mandarin and dialect voices for Chinese work.
- Leap Expressive: 23 languages for cloned voices
A voice you clone on the Expressive tier can read English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Greek, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Hindi, Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, Malay and Swahili. The five preset Expressive voices are English.
- Leap Turbo: 9 languages and accents, half price
American and British English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Hindi, Japanese and Mandarin, each with its own native voices. The tier for fast, economical drafts.
Counts are as published by the speech engine vendor, checked on September 30, 2026. Speech to Text, a separate feature, transcribes 30 languages.
Hear the same voice in 26 languages
Every clip below is real LeapFun output from one Leap Ultra voice, Stella, reading the same sentence: “Welcome to LeapFun. This voice can read your script in over 130 languages.” Nothing was edited; each clip was checked by transcription before it was published.
How multilingual generation works
- Write the script in any supported languagePaste the text as it is. There is no language dropdown for Ultra and Pro multilingual voices: the language, and a switch mid-script, is detected from the words themselves.
- Pick one voice for every editionThe multilingual voices keep their character across languages, so the Spanish and Japanese editions of a course sound like the same narrator. Use a director's note to ask for a regional accent.
- Generate, then master onceEvery export is loudness-mastered to -14 LUFS / 48 kHz whatever the language, so localized versions sit at the same level as the original.
Reading in 130+ languages is not translation
Text to speech reads the script you give it. If you write in Vietnamese, you get Vietnamese audio. Turning an existing English project into a Vietnamese one is a different job: Audiobook Studio can translate a whole project and re-narrate it with the same voice setup, and that feature currently covers 8 languages (English, Chinese, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese and Hindi) on the Creator plan and above. For the other languages on this page, bring your own translation and the voices will read it.
Every supported language, by region
“Yes” under Leap Pro means the language is also read by Pro's multilingual voices at the standard rate; “Ultra only” means it needs a Leap Ultra voice. 29 languages are Ultra only.

Names follow the speech engine vendor's published list. A language listed here can be read by the voice; how natural a specific voice sounds in a specific language varies, so audition before you commit a long project, and use the paragraph re-take in Studio for the lines that need another pass.
Frequently asked questions
How many languages does LeapFun text to speech support?
It depends on the voice tier. Leap Ultra voices read 130+ languages and Leap Pro's multilingual voices read 100+ of them, both detected automatically from the script. Leap Expressive cloned voices speak 23 languages and Leap Turbo covers 9 languages and accents. The full list is on this page.
Do I need to pick a language before generating?
No. On Leap Ultra and Leap Pro multilingual voices the language is detected from the text itself, so one voice reads English, Spanish or Japanese without changing settings, and a script that mixes languages is read in one pass.
Can the same voice read every language?
Yes on the multilingual tiers: the same 30 voices are shared by Leap Ultra and Leap Pro, so a channel can keep one narrator across all of its language editions. Regional accent and delivery can be steered with a director's note.
Is reading in 130+ languages the same as translation?
No. Text to speech reads the script you give it, in whatever language it is written. Translating a whole Studio project into another language and re-narrating it is a separate feature that currently covers 8 languages on the Creator plan and above.
Does it cost more to generate in a non-English language?
The multilingual voices bill by UTF-8 byte: 1.5 credits per byte on Leap Ultra and 1 on Leap Pro. A minute of audio therefore costs about the same in any language, while a character in a non-Latin script counts as two or three bytes. Expressive, Turbo and Pro's dialect voices bill per character. The app shows the rate and a credit estimate before you generate.
