One credit is one character on standard-rate voices. Leap Turbo voices bill 0.5 credits per character; Leap Ultra voices bill 1.5 credits per UTF-8 byte, so a minute of Ultra audio costs about the same in any language. The rate is shown next to each voice before you generate, and credits are charged per generation, not per download.
