LeapFun vs Speechify: Making Audio vs Listening to It
Updated October 2, 2026
Short version: Speechify is two products. The reader app turns documents and articles into audio for you to listen to, and its terms say that output is not for commercial use. Speechify Studio is the creator product, sold as a separate subscription with yearly pricing, and it also covers dubbing and avatars. LeapFun does one thing: narration you publish, in a chapter-based Studio, billed monthly from $6. Speechify Studio costs less per minute on a yearly plan; LeapFun costs less to start.

Speechify Studio spends one credit per second of voiceover, three per second of dubbing and thirty per second of avatar video; the hours above are our arithmetic for voiceover only.
Per minute of voiceover, Speechify Studio Starter is about $0.07 and Studio Creator about $0.05. LeapFun billed yearly on standard-rate voices is about $0.125 on Starter and $0.08 on Creator. Speechify Studio is the cheaper minute if you commit to a year and use the allowance.
LeapFun is cheaper to begin with and easier to stop: $6 for a month with commercial rights, no yearly commitment. And the two meter differently. Speechify charges for seconds of finished output; LeapFun charges for characters of script, so you know the cost before you generate.
